Green Tea Lime Pie Smoothie (Bowl) by Oh She Glows

Green-Tea-Lime-Pie-Smoothie-Bowl-Oh-She-Glows-Nicole-Porter-WellnessI like this smoothie from Oh She Glows because it incorporates vegetables, doesn’t include a protein powder, has coconut water instead of almond/nut milk (many call for almond milk and we are likely drinking too much of it these days), and it includes maple syrup, which gives people a chance to see how effective a natural sweetener is (as opposed to something like stevia or real sugar)

Ingredients:

1/2 cup coconut water
1 cup fresh baby spinach
1 large frozen banana packed
1/4 cup avocado
2 teaspoons lime zest (it’s easiest to zest the lime before juicing)
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice
2 to 3 ice cubes
2 teaspoons pure maple syrup, or to taste
1/2 teaspoon Matcha green tea powder

Directions:

Add all the smoothie ingredients into a high speed blender and blend on high until smooth. Adjust sweetness if desired.
Pour into a bowl and sprinkle on the toppings of your choice. Enjoy with a spoon!

Topping ideas:

  • Granola
  • Sliced banana and mango (NP note: personally, I wouldn’t add more fruit since it’s already got some)
  • Melted coconut butter
  • Large flake dried coconut
  • Lime zest
  • Hemp hearts
