Because thiamin (aka vitamin B1) is partially eliminated through the skin, doses of more than 50-100mg per day may help repel insects. Keep in mind though that B vitamins are best taken as a complex so don’t just go taking B1 on it’s own this summer while you aim to avoid those pesky flies and mosquitoes!
